Anjali Shani, 10 years old (id.: 1.)

Anjlai’s family is very poor and all 5 of them live in one small room. Her father got injured in an accident 5 years ago and since then he could not work. He was in a hospital several times and the medicines are very expensives. Her mother cooks for rich families. The income of the whole family per month is 2500 rupee (55 USD / 38 EUR).

Anjali is in the fourth year in the government school and she is a very good student. The quality of the school is very low but maybe in the next year they won’t be able to afford this school either because of her father’s state of health and the growing price of food.

Vinit Shani, 8 years old (id.: 2.)

Vinit’s family is very poor, all 5 of them live in one small room. His father got injured in an accident 5 years ago and since then he can not work. He was in hospital several times and the medicines are very expensives. His mother cooks for rich families. The income of the whole family per month  is 2500 rupee (55 USD / 36 EUR).

Vinit hasn’t been able to start his studies because of the poorness of his family, his daughter (Anjali Shani) teaches him at home.  

 

Priyanka Mishra, 13 years old (id.: 3.)

All 6 of them live together in the family and they are very poor. Both of her father and brother work as peanut venders on the street. The income of the whole family per month is approximately 1500 – 2000 rupee (33 – 44 USD / 23 – 30 EUR).

Priyanka is in the 6th year in the school and she is a good student but the family can not afford to pay the costs of the school. If she can not find a sponsor she will have to give up her studies and she will have to get married soon.       

 

Shristi Sonkar, 15 years old (id.: 4.)

All 5 of the family live in one room in very bad conditions. Both parents work as street venders who prepare and sell refreshing drinks. The income of the whole family per month is approximately 1500 – 2000 rupee (33 – 44 USD / 23 – 30 EUR).

Shristi is in the 8th year in the government school and she is a very good student. In spite of being very poor the family is very committed to studying. If they have the opportunity Shristi will study until finishing her studies and she won’t get married until then.

Gautamlal Sonkar, 13 years old (id.: 5.)

Gautamlal is in the 7th year in the government school and he is a good student. In spite of being very poor the family is very committed to studying. If he doesn’t find a sponsor he will have to give up his studies and he will have to work.
