Varanasi is famous for it’s beautiful silk scarfs and sarees but the weavers of this items live in terrible conditions. In today's world economy, where profits rule and small-scale producers are left out of the bargaining process, craft producers are often left without resources or hope for their future. Through our fairtrade program we try to help the weavers of the Varanasi area to maintain their traditional lifestyles with dignity. For this reason all of our ”profits” what we gain with this program will be spend to reach our aims. We will support the local communities by community development, education and vocational training programs from this sum.
